SIMONE NINA - Wild is the Wind LP Verve Acoustic Sounds
Nina Simone's sixth album for Philips, released in 1966, was compiled from unreleased recordings from sessions for previous Philips albums. The song "Four Women" was released as a single, and gained attention when banned by the New York jazz focused radio station WLIB due to concern over the lyrics. * Verve’s Acoustic Sounds Series is mastered by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound from the original analog tapes; pressed on 180-gram vinyl at QPR; and presented in deluxe high-quality Stoughton Printing gatefold tip-on jackets. The series is supervised by Chad Kassem CEO of Acoustic Sounds
