Tuottaja/DJ/remiksaaja Ashley Beedlen ja Darren Morrisin MAVIS -projekti on kunnianosoitus soulin ja r&b:n uranuurtajille Mavis Staplesille ja The Staple Singersille. Tribuutti sai alkunsa Beedlen ja Morrisin säveltämästä instrumentaalikappaleesta, mutta kasvoi piakkoin kokonaiseksi levyksi, jolla vierailee joukko sekä nimekkäitä että tuoreita artisteja. Mukaan vanhan ja uuden liittoon ovat lähteneet mm. Kurt Wagner (Lambchop), Candi Staton, Ed Harcourt, Edwyn Collins, Cerys Matthews sekä Sarah Cracknell (Saint Etienne).
